Yes! Always. I love writing for young adults (and adults too). In fact, I love creating a space in books that speak to adults and young adults--hence my own way of doing 'crossover.' Hmm. The mystery of family relations with my family of origin. There are a lot of silences, which makes for mystery. Another mystery is what happened to my beloved first pet, a cat, who ran off to live with another family!

Two dinner conversations and a lunch conversation. Seems food is a theme here! The dinner conversations were for "Watched," where I heard about surveillance of Muslims, particularly young students. I got curious. Then another friend over dinner told me about a young man who had come into her office and seemed to be boasting that he was an informant. That fascinated me. My other recent book, co-authored with Marc Aronson, "Eyes of the World," grew out of listening to Walter Dean Myers speak about one of his book projects. A light went off in me about my own.
