A story that gets turned into an agenda is a piece of propaganda.

You want to talk about difficult stuff in your story, go ahead... but make it about your characters, not current or past thought trends.

And if your plot leads to difficult things - don't be afraid to explore them.
A.R. Mitchell For awhile I was part of a writer's group and every Christmas we'd share short stories aloud to each other. Nicholas Knack's adventure, "Farewell, My Chubby," is the result.
The best part audience agreed was watching the guy next to me who was reading over my shoulder try not to explode in laughter because he knew the next joke.
