Samyukta B When I experience writer's block, I just let go of whatever I was writing for a time. I go read a book or drink some coffee and remove my thinking cap and keep it aside for a while. After I've relaxed for a bit, I come back to what I was working on. This routine usually helps me change the perspective, of the written piece, I had had before. I edit my piece, change the voice, look up for a synonym or try exchanging a few lines here and there. If none of those work, I keep that draft aside for reference and write it from start in different version.
Samyukta B My advice to aspiring writers is, you started writing for a reason; whether it's an escape or amusement or a hobby or it's therapeutic, always cherish what you have written. It's your work and your effort.
Sometimes, you might be overwhelmed by other's amazing written work, but do your best to turn that into inspiration, instead of discouragement.
Samyukta B When I began my poetic journey, simultaneously, I was going through a lot of changes in my life. I was learning about people and choices and mistakes, discovering the dualities of life: the light and the dark side, good people and fake friends, growth and failure. This was the major inspiration behind my debut poetry book, Poison and Antidote.
