Out of the corner of my eye, I can still see its contorted face---shifting gaze, matted hair, gnarled teeth---and I know that it is waiting. Sometimes, even the wind on my neck feels like a soft hiss of its fowl breath and makes me question if I am still alive, or if, like it, I have not yet learned to die.

The best thing about being a writer is finding people who have resonated with my stories or characters as much as I have. The common interest is what binds us together as human beings and makes the human experience that much more enjoyable. I love being able to share the characters that have become some of my favourite companions with other people who also found them interesting. Plus, it's always exciting to find like minds who also believe in magic.

Take it one sentence at a time, but make sure to write that one sentence down! The quality of that one sentence doesn't matter, it's just a starting point and can be edited later, but it's often much easier to get that one sentence down and feel proud of the momentum, rather than stressing over not finding the perfect 2500 words.
Oh yeah, and an editor is REQUIRED. This goes for editors turned writers as well. Outside eyes are necessary.

Sometimes the inspiration comes in a dream and forces me to wake up and write. Other times I find I have to push myself to write. Always helps to have a large cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate---and I mean LARGE.
I no longer set word counts for myself because I have realized that it is much easier to write one sentence than it is to write 2500 words. The one sentence usually always turns into at least 1000 or more, and that way I can maintain the momentum of writing without getting disillusioned on the chance that I don't reach a word count.

I'm a wild child---I guess. I have three projects in the works.
1. Another poetry collection about adulthood.
2. Book 2 in the Welcome to Visanthe series.
3. A free standalone set in Visanthe but with a heavier romance theme.

The world from Avatar the Last Airbender for sure. I love elemental magic and the cultures to which this series pays homage. Caveat: I'd need to be a bender. Similarly, plant me in Visanthe from Welcome to Visanthe---can you tell it's designed for me? *wink**wink*
In both of these, I think I'd probably be connecting with the spirits of old and practicing my abilities.
Otherwise, Harry Potter world and please give me a good wand! Here, I'd be chilling like normal, but using my magic like Mrs. Weasley, and adventuring when possible.
