Robin Rivers I would go to Narnia because it was the place of all of my childhood imaginations. Even now, when the snow turns trees crystalline, I am shot right back to hiding in my closet, reading those novels, wishing I could disappear into a world hidden behind the wardrobe.
Robin Rivers Writer's block, for me, is almost always my mind's way of saying, "Woman, you need to rest." I am a work-until-it's-done sort of person and often forget that writing with a tired brain has diminishing returns. So, I will take a nap, go for a walk, hang out with my family, until the brain kicks back in.

When that sort of level of rest isn't going to cut it (deadlines!), I will go back to the original inspiration for the story or just start free writing on the topic or in the character's voice I'm trying to manage. Usually, that sort of getting out of my own head works well.
Robin Rivers I read on all kinds of topics from travel and history to sci-fi and high fantasy.
Robin Rivers I'm currently writing Vol. 2 of The Sibylline Chronicles, which expands on the fantastical realm of the Sibylline with the cast from Vol. 1.
