I don't think it is so much getting inspired to write, it is carving out time in my day to be able to. I work full-time and I am also the director of a writers group so I have to be very intentional about setting time aside to write. If I manage to do that, a cup of coffee and a couple of cookies are usually all of the inspiration I need - especially since I usually only have a very broad outline in my head of what I am writing and I can't wait to get to my keyboard to find out what happens next :)

I am so excited about my current WIP - it is historical fiction with a dollop of magical realism. I am also working on continuing what I started with Alien Neighbors in another science fiction novel. Lots of fun and uplifting adventures ahead!

Have fun! Write the story you would want to read. Study your craft. Remember that writing is very subjective - not everyone will think what you write is their "cup of tea" and that is okay. I am grateful that I don't often run into this issue very often, but when I do, I simply turn my attention to something else for a bit. I might work on something else I am writing that takes less creative energy, or change my scenery and go for a bicycle ride. Trying to force my thoughts onto paper rarely helps, but giving myself permission to step away and do something different takes the pressure off.
