I have written some flash fiction in fantasy! It is definitely a stretch for me, but the story does feature horses so it was fun to do. That story will be featured in an anthology next year!

Many don't ever NEED to be clipped, it is done most often when they are going to be working hard in winter so that they don't get their fuzzy winter coats too sweaty and need a long time to cool out after a ride.
It used to be common to clip face whiskers and ear hair for shows, but as we have learned more about horses it has started to be banned in many equestrian sports as a welfare issue, so we are seeing shaved faces less and less (which is great!) people do often still clip long leg hairs for showing, as this doesn't effect the horse, only their appearance, though different breeds have different desired looks—some want the full and fluffy, while others go for a sleek look.

Good one! I'm hoping to be able to stick to my release schedule for my Harris Twins series that will see Book #2 out on January 17th and Book #3 (the finale!) out on March 14th.
Beyond that I hope to start drafting whatever will come next, but besides a few character ideas those stories are yet to be dreamed up. I need to start choosing which characters will get the spotlight next. I'm thinking since the Harris Twins are on a dude ranch, I may go with something english riding related--maybe jumping riders!

Just start writing! You can't make anything great out of a blank page. It's OK if the first draft is terrible, you can fix it. Also, don't be afraid to share your work, outside feedback is invaluable. Make writer friends, join a critique group, enlist alpha and beta readers...anything and everything!

I used to wait for the mood to strike, but that doesn't always happen so I try to have some writing time set aside at least 5 days a week. I also let myself daydream a lot! If I'm stuck in traffic or waiting in line I try to imagine what my character would be doing, what conversations they would be having etc. Then if something interesting pops up I jot it down in my phones notepad app for later.

Currently, I am working on the final edits for book one in the Harris Twins series, as well as first edits on book two! Twin Springs Ranch (book #1) will come out on November 15th!
