R.P. Lauer First, I apologize for not getting to this sooner; I never got notified and rarely go into the author dashboard. Anyway, that is a tough question for a few reasons.

1) I don't really want to be negative, especially declaring a piece of art as 'the worst' (if you know what I mean).

2) I usually don't finish a book if I'm not enjoying it, and I also don't like to judge anything I didn't finish; for all I know, those books all got much better so I'd have viewed them differently. I know I've had a few movies like that where it starts out slow and boring, but something in the later half, maybe even the ending itself, will make up for any early shortcomings. With books I'm maybe not as patient as I should be.

That all being said, there is one 'book' that I did finish that was, in my opinion, just terrible. It's not really a 'book' though it is sold as such; Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I know that that is just a stageplay, but it IS being sold as a book, and it IS refered to as the 8th Harry Potter story.

And it is, in my opinion, terrible; from start to finish. And even if it had been written as a book, polished as a traditional book tends to get, I don't think the basic premise alone could have ever been saved. The concept itself was bad (again, in my opinion). That 'book' was a complete chore to get through.

I wouldn't have even bothered if my wife hadn't tricked me. She read it first and said it was good, only to laugh at me upon my reaction upon finishing. Her justification was that if she had to go through that, I did too, and I never would have started it if she had told me how bad it was.

(Sorry to any fans of that, I just absolutely hated it through and through.)
