Hi JR,
I am not sure if I am the right person to review your children's books, as they are really far away from my own genre and I don't have any children/grandchildren in that age group. But, if you would like to send me one via my email I will take a look at it and let you know what I think. Send me a link to vpnightshade@gmail.com

(view spoiler)[Hi Brittany!
Thank you for your question. The relationship between Jackie and Mansuetus was super hot, super sweet, and was very adult, but with Mansuetus basically being an immortal and Jackie purely human - fleeting. As Nichola tells Leila in The Choice, "Glyko, I believe that Mansuetus has as many women as he chooses."
I personally like to think that the relationship between Jackie and Mansuetus though short, was special, and more importantly revealed to Jackie that she was worthy of more in her life. That she didn't have to settle for a married man who only provided her with lies and played with her emotions. I like to think that her time with Mansuetus gave her the confidence to know that she deserved a man who treated her well, like a 'goddess', and helped her to make better Choices in who she spent her life with in the future. I can give you the beginning of a horror story -
As his teeth sank into the meat the first thing he noticed was the taste; metallic, coppery, a somewhat gamey taste that was almost sweet. It's too bad it had to be donated by Arthur; he had liked him a lot.

The only way through it is to WRITE your way through it. It doesn't have to be perfect - that's what the editing process is for - but write something, anything. Then READ what you wrote - sometimes the reading will spark your creative thoughts to come through!

Creating your own worlds. Charting your own course. Don't get me wrong, sometimes your characters take over a manuscript and you end up at the end of a project not realizing that's where you were going - but that is writing! It's always an adventure!

Don't let anything stop you. Life will stop you if you let it. The little mundane things that happen to us; job, kids, television, cleaning the house, laundry! While these things are important, they can suck the creativity out of your mind! Don't let them. If you have people in your life that are not supportive of you - ignore them. MAKE TIME TO WRITE. If you don't make time to write in your life, you will not make it.

I am working on the sequel to The Choice. The Sequel is titled: Now, Always, Forever and begins with Leila's son beginning his transformation, and Leila finishing her transformation and both taking their place within vampire society. Expected publication date is: February 2022.
I also have the prequel outlined out, and I have two characters from The Choice who are 'demanding' their own book, but they are going to have to wait their turn. Lol!

A simple conversation or action can inspire me to write. With The Choice, it started with a dream.

I started outlining and writing The Choice in 1995 - that's why the setting starts in 1995. Sometimes life gets in the way of finishing a creative project. I just finally decided that finishing this project was going to take priority over the little things in my life! I get ideas from life itself - the people around me, the things that happen in my day-to-day life - the way my mind works is that everything can be turned into a story.
