I'm well into another travel memoir about a five-week backpacking journey across India. I took the trip in January 2020 with a friend of forty years plus. My working title is 'Pensioners in the Punjab' ...but I'm still working on it!

I have read Journey through Britain, by John Hillaby, several times. I wondered what a modern-day version would be like, fifty years after the original one. I did mine by motorbike, which was a bit of a cheat, but I took the long, back lanes route, slowed right down, and made it an experience rather than an achievement.
