Like any book, yes, there are always ideas we come up with that won’t make it into a book. We always sit down together and curate the ideas that make the most sense to us so the book can be the best possible. We have a great partnership (and lots of fun) and we talk out everything until we decide exactly what we want to say.

Best of luck as you begin your writing journey. Besides, reading a lot and writing whenever you can, I recommend writing from the heart, finding trusted readers who will be honest and constructive, and taking good critical feedback while still maintaining your voice.

I love classic romance. There have been some AMAZING fictional couples, and I definitely have a few that are beloved to me. But my all-time fave is Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy. So clever and wonderful and romantic.

No idea. I wrote One Wicked Night back in the mid-90's. I'm afraid I don't really know all the historicals with this sort of theme. I have a book where the heroine is engaged to a pastor and is pursued by a duke, her betrothed's cousin, before her wedding. That's called Strictly Forbidden. If that's not the book you're thinking of, try asking some other readers of this genre on Goodreads or Facebook. Someone will know.

So glad you’re enjoying the Wicked Lovers series! There will definitely be another book on July 5, titled Falling in Deeper. It’s about Stone, whom we met in His to Take, and Sweet Pea/Misty (aka Lily), Dominion’s receptionist. It’s available for pre-order now. This November 8, Dirty Wicked, a new 1,001 Dark Nights novella, will tell the story of Nick Navarro, Javier’s PI friend, and his new lady love, Sasha. Then in February 2017, I’ll release another Wicked Lovers novel, which is tentatively titled Holding on Tighter, but that’s subject to change. It’s about Heath (Mystery’s bodyguard from Wicked for You) and a kickass Dallas female entrepreneur. After that…we’ll see where imagination takes me.

This may sound simple, but you should approach writing a love story (or any story, really) from the heart. Get to know your characters and their conflicts well, figure out what’s keeping them apart, how they need to grow as individuals and as a couple to live happily ever after, then discern what events must transpire for them to start the process of changing and melding together. If you know them well enough to answer those questions and you’re listening to them as you write, making those transitions that slowly reveal the emotional growth in the story will be as natural as breathing.

I’ve never completely based a character on someone I know but I’ve definitely used snippets of friends and family members for some of my characters. For instance, my family is full of alpha males and they lend themselves well to my Wicked Lovers heroes, so I’ve used sayings, reactions, or thought processes from my dad, uncle, cousins, grandfather, etc. It’s fun!

One of the first things that ever struck me as romantic was actually from a children’s book:

A close second would have to be from the magnificent, I-bow-to-you awesomeness of Jane Austen because this line still gives me chills.
"In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” ~ Pride and Prejudice

Besides my schedule being VERY full, I was unable to obtain the rights back to the first four books and Mated novella from the publisher, which nixed my plans to reissue them (with all the sex and other deleted scenes they’d removed) so I could continue the series. If that changes, then I’ll do everything to work one into my calendar because I miss these characters, too. Rest assured, I’ve heard from MANY of you who want to know what’s going to happen with Bram and his mysterious Emma. And of course, lots of people ask for an update on the big guy, Shock. I’m hoping this situation resolves itself soon. I’ll keep everyone advised if there’s any progress.
