All of my books have been inspired by my daycare and preschool children. Children have so much to share, so I include them in my writing to help get their message out and mine. Children have fantastic ideas, and the stories often come from having conversations about what's important to them. I believe we all can learn so much from children, all we have to do is listen.

Currently, I am working on increasing my exposure through marketing. As a self-published author, there are many hats we wear. One of the most challenging areas for me is marketing and social media. I am learning as I go along, participating in zoom workshops, reading, and hiring an expert. My book The Power of Kindness Through the Eyes of Children recently won two awards for the book's cover. One prize was a month-long Instagram takeover where the sponsored company Unglitch.io ran my Instagram. I saw a lot of growth in followers, likes, comments, etc., so I am exploring more avenues to increase exposure.

The best thing about being a writer is when children read my book and positively affect their lives. My first book, The Power of Positivity, was written during the beginning of the Covid Pandemic. My pre-school children were struggling with not understanding what was happening around them. After reading the book with them, many parents shared that their children began asking questions they didn't know how to articulate. It has helped with children's anxiety and allows them to see the positive things in the world and the kind people share. My book gave them hope in the uncertainty of the world.

I take to nature. I go for a walk, listen to music, sit and watch the water. I meditate, which also seems to help me when the words don't flow as easily. I try not to have deadlines. I believe creativity will come at the right time.

I am currently reading The Way of Integrity by Natha Beck and Get Selfish by Joanna Hunt. Both are excellent books.
