Emma Sutton Book two (working title: Hugging the Cactus) is in draft format - at 200,000 words it needs a good edit, but I have been putting it off. The story includes a very sad part of my life, so I have been keeping the editing (and hence reliving the grief) at arms' length.

I am also writing book 3 (no title yet) to express the weirdness of lockdown and homeschooling, and a new book that is about my battle with my weight called The Shrinking Woman - which isn't going well since I started comfort eating and the Covid Diet of too much food.
Emma Sutton I have always loved stories and I read all the time - which is not always a good thing as I can get stuck comparing myself to other writers.

But in the last five years, I have learnt that if I don't find time to write, all the words and ideas stack up in my heart and mind, and they find a way to get out via the keyboard - even if that's a stupid o'clock when I would much rather be asleep.

When I am in the middle of a book, the story takes over my life and I squeeze writing time into as many moments as I can to keep the momentum going.
