Hmm.... When I was younger, I had this watch - it was really cool for the time (ha!) and I lost it the day before my family and I were going away on this big holiday. I was so upset, my mother helped me look for it. We tore my bedroom apart, but didn't find it. That night, after crying myself to sleep, I had this epic, totally vivid dream that I was searching the world to find it. It had become some sort of treasure that everyone was after, and I had to be the first to get to it, or the world as we knew it would end. The next morning, I woke up to find the watch clasped in my hand.
I think that would make an interesting plot for a book. Maybe a YA mystery/adventure with a touch of fantasy?

I manage to write the most at night. After the family has gone to bed!
Less distractions, and as a night owl, I've always been most productive when it's dark outside!

Keep writing! Let the story flow out from start to finish before you worry about editing and all of that stressful stuff.

Leave the project alone, and let it breathe. I listen to the characters, and when they're ready to keep going, the block will vanish.
That's probably why I have so many projects on the go at any one time.

I've got a few projects on the go right now.
The next few Kids in Care books, and my NA novel The Daughters of Death.

It might - okay, it definitely does - sound strange, but it's like the characters are talking to me. I get restless until I've written down what they tell me. Mainly in the middle of the night, at the expense of sleep.

As a foster carer I see many young people struggle with the loss of identity, confidence and the sense of self within the community. The “Kids in Care” series is aimed at children in the foster care system.
The goal of this series is to help children in these situations feel less confused, scared and alone.
These stories will hopefully reassure and comfort them while remaining relatable to situations that they may be going through.
I wanted to encourage open communication while removing some of the stigma surrounding foster kids and help build self-esteem and confidence. Perhaps even be a voice that educates others on what these children have to deal with.
It is important that children in Foster Care have an outlet for their questions, opinions and experiences. These books help give them a chance to open up. To realize that their voice and experiences matter.
