Sally Dallas It was a mystery for several years that I was a fiction writer! Only my husband knew. It wasn’t until I uploaded my first book that I told family and friends. I’d like to write a story about a famous woman, a politician perhaps, who writes content under a pseudonym that influences society in a profound way. When she is outed, everyone is shocked. She’s not who she seems. Unlike me, I’m totally who I seem. No secrets here.
Sally Dallas Go for a walk around my neighborhood, and if any plot holes that I'm struggling with pop into my head I make a note on my phone so I don't forget.
Sally Dallas Sharing your stories with your readers, because essentially you are sharing your thoughts, your perceptions, and outlook on life. These elements are reflected within your words. I'm in the beginning of my promotion stage, but to think that someone will actually read my book, and like it, is satisfying.
Sally Dallas I know there are "best selling" authors out there, but don't try to be anyone but yourself. We each have unique experiences to draw upon that will differentiate our stories from any other writer. Don't be formulaic. That's too predictable.
Sally Dallas The second book in the Chenille trilogy - Delusions of Chenille. It follows her journey on the quest for true love. Of course she has mishaps along the way. I'm also working on marketing my first book, which is very challenging.
Sally Dallas Spending over thirty years in a structured career, when I reached a point in my life that I had time for creative pursuits, I felt I was set free. I am motivated by the thought of the end result. I guess I'm someone who finishes what they start.
Sally Dallas Deceptions of Chenille was born from my desire to read a suspenseful book that didn't focus on violence, and did portray women as strong characters. Crime thrillers are too graphic, although I like the puzzle solving. Romance novels are too cheesy, and often depict woman as weak, and needing their men for personal fulfillment. I wrote I book that I would like to read.
