Mim Eichmann Actually, it's already part of the plot in my current work in process ... the somewhat mysterious circumstances surrounding my husband's sudden death 24 years ago ... hoping to get finished with the heavy lifting/editing of the manuscript within the next few weeks ...
Mim Eichmann For close to two decades I had been reading late 19th Century women's diaries, journals, short stories and novels and was also fascinated with that time period in our nation's history in terms of our vast political, economic and cultural shifts. The actual synopsis for "A Sparrow Alone" gradually evolved out of that reading; in many ways I felt that the characters, both fictional and historic, had been living within me for years before finally "demanding" that I put their story down way on paper.
Mim Eichmann I'm currently writing the third and final book in my historical fiction series that began with A SPARROW ALONE. This standalone "side-quel", called TAYVIE'S STORY, follows Tayvie, a biracial child who was lost at age 4 in 1924, from her early years in Memphis, TN to Occupied Paris during World War II, and ends out in Colorado where she's finally able to piece together her family's mysterious past.
Mim Eichmann I work from a fairly comprehensive outline so I can't exactly address problems with writer's block per se. But there have been times that my characters and/or the chronological timing of certain events have rather inadvertently painted me into a difficult corner.
