I shift to another story. I am very blessed to have a mind and hands that move at the speed of light and can run multiple series at the same time. If I get stuck on one (which I do) I jump to another or write a short story until it passes. I usually get my inspiration halfway through the other project and jot some notes down to get me started again when it is time.

Just do it. Don't quit your job to do it, but give it a try in your spare time. It is art and if you are meant to be an author you will get all you need just from putting pen to paper. Some of the most satisfied writers I know are not professionals. They just write for themselves and enjoy it tremendously.

I am currently working on completing my 3 open series. Becoming My Daddy volume 4 is open as we speak and I will be shifting to volume 3 in the Dynami series next. I like consistency so my current plan is 6 volumes for each, but I also let the story direct and will not force things if there is more than needs to be told.

Either through discussions with others or by daydreaming. Working as a writer is nice in that sense. Daydreams are more than just a distraction from a task, they are fuel for the writing fire!

A personal fantasy. My mind works overtime and writing is an outlet for new ideas and fun fantasies my wife and I share together.
