Allison Saft Thank you so much! There is no sequel to A Far Wilder Magic, but I am planning to write an epilogue that shows what Margaret and Wes are up to after the events of the book. You will receive the epilogue if you preorder A Fragile Enchantment and/or the paperback of A Far Wilder Magic, both of which come out January 2024!
Allison Saft Thank you so much! Down Comes the Night is a standalone. However, I'm planning on writing a short story following Wren and Hal on their new adventures as part of the preorder campaign for A Far Wilder Magic!
Allison Saft I’m inspired mostly by nature, questions I can’t answer easily, and interesting romantic dynamics. What drives me to keep writing is reading something that lives right on the brink of “I want to emulate this” and “I could never come close to this.” I want to push myself with each book.
Allison Saft SO much was on my summer reading list this year, and I’ve gotten through a good portion of it (although it is always expanding). Some highlights for me are other 2021 debuts: These Feathered Flames by Alexandra Overy, Sweet & Bitter Magic by Adrienne Tooley, and The Devil Makes Three by Tori Bovalino. I’ve also read and loved Mexican Gothic by Silvia Garcia-Moreno, Catherine House by Elisabeth Thomas, Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power, The Lost Garden by Helen Humphreys, and A Golden Fury by Samantha Cohoe.

Next up for me is St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves by Karen Russell, The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco, The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson, and Death in Her Hands by Ottessa Moshfegh.
Allison Saft I’m currently revising my second book, which is another YA romantic fantasy! I can’t say too much about it yet, but I’m currently thinking about it as The Scorpio Races meets Fullmetal Alchemist. In between revisions, I’m also dreaming up another book, which will be a murder mystery in a fantasy setting.
Allison Saft Yes, Wren is bi! Down Comes the Night doesn’t exactly have a love triangle, but at the beginning of the book, Wren has lingering feelings for/a strong attachment to her female ex. That complicated relationship is at the heart of the book in many ways, but the main romantic pairing is m/f.
