Linore Rose Burkard I can tell you a horror story in one sentence.

An atheist dies.
Linore Rose Burkard Update: The first two volumes of my Brides of Mayfair are now available, 1. Miss Tavistock's Mistake, and 2. Miss Fanshawe's Fortune. This is another Regency series of "sweet and clean" romance. Book 3, Miss Wetherham's Wedding is in the works and I hope to have it out by late December 2020 or January 2021. These are meant to be "Heyeresque" Regencies--(lots of fun). :)
(Older answer) Thank you, Rosie! Yes, I plan on writing more, and have already begun a few. I have two regencies I'm trying to finish and one historical set in the time of Charles II. (Late 1600s). But did you read the sequels to Before the Season Ends? (The House in Grosvenor Square, and, The Country House Courtship?) You'll enjoy them since you liked BTSE. And please join my mailing list so I can keep you updated with my progress on new books. (Join at my website http://www.LinoreBurkard.com)

Thanks again! Pleased to meet you here on GoodReads. :)
Linore Rose Burkard Elizabeth Bennet and Mr.Darcy from Pride and Prejudice are a favorite fictional couple of mine because they each start out so cock-sure of themselves, but learn humility and gratitude as they fall in love. Also, they come to know each other for who they really are, unlike many so-called "romances," which are really stories merely of physical attraction more than true love. Loving another person well requires humility and gratitude, so I like the nod to reality in this "happily-ever-after" fairy tale.
Linore Rose Burkard Sure. The Golden Rule. Do to others as you would have them do to you.
Linore Rose Burkard Thank you, Marlene! I do have more romances, as yet unfinished, and I pray for the chance to finish them. I suppose you've read my other regencies--The House in Grosvenor Square, and, The Country House Courtship? But I'd like to save you the trouble of looking me up--why not join my mailing list? Sign up at www.LinoreBurkard.com. You'll be among the first to know when I've got something new coming out. But just so you know, after I finish the next book in the YA/Apocalyptic series, I'll be focusing on some of those romances. Thanks so much for your interest--and your patience!
Linore Rose Burkard It varies with the project. Generally, a true writers' block indicates that I haven't fully thought out what I want to say. Sometimes, it's about fear (what if I CAN'T write this scene? Or, what if I fail with this book?). When it's fear I have to write through it--that's the only way to slay that dragon. But I'll put in my fair share of procrastination first!
Linore Rose Burkard Hearing from readers who just devoured something I've written and need to rave about it! Meeting other writers and many of my readers would be the next best thing(s) .
Linore Rose Burkard You won't know if you can write or not until you try and keep trying. If you keep trying, you'll find that, most likely, you can write. (Or you wouldn't keep trying.) Some have to keep trying longer than others to reach a publishable stage, but if you feel certain that you are called to write, then don't give up. Don't let rejection stop you. Only GOD should be able to say, "Enough. Now stop." If it isn't HIM, then hang tight and keep at it.
Linore Rose Burkard PULSE EFFEX BOOK TWO. (And FOREVER, LATELY--a time-travel regency romance.)
Linore Rose Burkard When an idea takes hold of me, I need to write. I'm not the kind of writer who has to write every day to keep the wheels turning, or anything like that. (Unless I'm on deadline, and I need to be writing to meet it!) In fact, I usually don't write unless I have something--an idea, a scene, a character--that seizes me and compels me to it. Occasionally I have sat down without a strong idea and still written something, but that's more likely to occur with non-fiction (like a blog post or guest post) than with fiction.
Linore Rose Burkard That's a good question. I've asked myself that same thing. All I know is that I started thinking about what it would be like if an EMP ever really happened, and the reality of it got to me. After that, I felt compelled to write about it. I really believe that we are called to be prepared for diasasters as well as we can be. Not only for our own sake, but for the sake of those we love and those around us.
