Jacqueline Heron Wray Sorry to be boring, but I honestly can't think of a mystery in my life worthy of a book plot. The only mystery I deal with on a daily basis is not being able to find my phone!
Jacqueline Heron Wray Thank you for reaching out. I suppose my target audience would be anyone interested in social history. That said, I just love being connected to other book lovers and readers. Thanks to Goodreads I have discovered various genres and books I may not have considered before.
Jacqueline Heron Wray Oh yes, and Scotland of course! I haven't read Outlander yet, but I enjoyed the television series.
Are you currently researching your family tree? It can become quite addictive. I was over the moon when I discovered that King Robert the Bruce is my 22nd Great grandfather!
There are so many historical novels and social history books out there and so little time to read them, unfortunately.

I have lived and worked in many places including America and London. I moved back to my native Ayrshire in 2017 and was amazed by the beauty of the countryside, the beaches, and the rich history here on my doorstep. It was almost like visiting for the first time. I didn't fully appreciate what was all around me when I was growing up as is often the case. I decided to write a book set in a local village set in WW1 and WW2 so that I could include historical and local details.
Jacqueline Heron Wray Oh, that is a hard one. Inspiration has been sadly lacking but is thankfully back with a vengeance. Recently a friend was telling me about a mix-up with her suitcase at an airport. I immediately thought of a plot and started writing. If only it was always that easy.
Jacqueline Heron Wray Two years I started to write about a village set in World War 1 and World War 2. My plan is to dig it out, dust it off and breathe some life into it. Currently, I am writing short stories with a view to having them published in a magazine. For me, the most important thing is that I want to write again, I even wake up in the middle of the night with ideas.
Jacqueline Heron Wray Write.
It doesn't matter what, just write it down, even if it is in a notebook with a pencil. You don't need to show it to anyone if you don't want to.

"The first draft is just you telling yourself the story" Terry Pratchett.

First drafts and I speak from experience, might be awful until you polish and edit, polish and edit, and then polish and edit some more.
Jacqueline Heron Wray Being a writer means you can spend time in any place you choose with anyone you please. Pure escapism from the now.
Jacqueline Heron Wray Badly. I haven't written much in the past two years. I exercised my creativity by making soap, candles, and Christmas hampers full of homemade goodies for friends and family, so I don't feel too guilty about it. I just cannot force myself to write. I would be useless with deadlines!
Jacqueline Heron Wray I would travel into books about Jack the Ripper and try to find out once and for all who he really was and why he did what he did.
Jacqueline Heron Wray She searched high and low for her elusive phone.
When she found it, it was flat, and she couldn't find a charger
Jacqueline Heron Wray I can't wait to read Women Like Us A Memoir by Amanda Prowse. It won't be released until September though. Other than that, I plan to read and re-read The Emotion Thesaurus by Angela Ackerman & Becca Puglisi, Save The Cat Writes a Novel, by Jessica Brody, and Intuitive Editing by Tiffany Yates Martin.
In the words of C.S. Lewis' "To me, re-reading my favorite books is like spending time with my best friends.
I’d never be satisfied to limit myself to just one experience each with my favorite people.”
