Kristal Dawn Harris Great question! As a child, my family lived in a supposed haunted house. I say "supposed" because as an adult woman, I don't know that I believe in hauntings, but the story would be interesting and make a great plot. People are always intrigued by the unknown. Thanks for asking!
Kristal Dawn Harris Although I would love to travel into the "Fae" world, I probably wouldn't survive...haha! The Fae are always portrayed as all-knowing and magical, so I have a few questions to ask. Their worlds are usually unpolluted and that appeals greatly to me. Give me a small cottage in a magical forest, and I'd be good for the remainder of my life.
Kristal Dawn Harris Undercover Affection, Tame the Blade, Dark Illusion, Play A Game With Me, Dragon Knights, and Raider of Her Heart were all on my summer list and I've read them. I love Amelia Hutchins' books, so I need to catch up on those! With several releases, my reading time is limited, but I'm hoping to squeeze a few more books in.
Kristal Dawn Harris I've always loved paranormal creatures, but I personally feel like werewolves come in second to the vampire every single time. I wanted to build a world and a family entirely exclusive to the werewolf. I wanted my werewolves to be sexy men and women, educated with wicked tempers and hearts of gold, so I wrote it!
Kristal Dawn Harris I get inspired to write by the oddest things. It could be an object, something someone says/does or it could be someplace I go. My husband and I were traveling to Rhode Island recently when I saw this barren, dead tree in the middle of a farmer's field. I quickly pulled out a tablet of paper and wrote an idea for a book based on that one tree. That idea is mulling around in my brain. Eventually, I will write it!
Kristal Dawn Harris I'm currently working on a novella about a vampire at Christmas. It's called "Red Snowflakes."
Kristal Dawn Harris The best advice I ever read said, "Write every day, even if it's only one sentence and you end up deleting it. Before you know it, you'll have finished a book." Second bit of advice.....hire an editor!
Kristal Dawn Harris I can create any world or character I want in any time period! How cool is that!
Kristal Dawn Harris So far, I haven't got writer's block. Sometimes, I'll step away from a book I'm writing or sleep on it before continuing a chapter, but no block as of yet....knock on wood! lol
