Do you have a newsletter, author FaceBook, or author e-mail? I loved this book. It had great flow and was not written for those with a room-temp IQ (rude, but true). I'd like to know when you publish another book. I was only able to review this book on Amazon and GoodReads. Please let me know if you get it on BookBub (I am going to request it there). If you want to keep on writing, I want to keep on reading! GranJan

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
C.J. Capen You have complete control over the characters you create, what they do, what they say, the way they behave, and ultimately, what happens to them. I enjoy that latitude.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
C.J. Capen Listen to the experts. Write a lot. Give yourself credit for doing it and look back at your earlier writing occasionally, to see how far you've progressed. Be easy on yourself - it takes work and no one starts out perfect.

What are you currently working on?
C.J. Capen I'm taking a month off from writing (I have another job that I do part-time), and then I'm writing another book about two very different divorcees who, despite a lot of quirky baggage, find love after mid life.

How do you get inspired to write?
C.J. Capen I wrote for many years, for business. When I semi-retired in 2015, I entertained the idea of writing a work of fiction. At that same time, several of my female friends and family members found themselves suddenly alone in mid-life. Many didn't want to start over. All of them expressed great fear about allowing themselves to fall in love and be vulnerable again. The plot of The Consulting Gig grew out of these conversations.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
C.J. Capen I haven't encountered this yet! I think about my plot, characters and the chapter I'm working on just before I go to sleep at night. The next day, I get up and write it. It just flows out of me, but, sometimes, it's different than what I had imagined the night before.
