Hi, Shivani
Good to hear from you! It's always great to hear from readers, particularly when they've enjoyed the books so much. In terms of Book 2 in the Kaira Renn series, Kaira travels by boat to a new magical realm called Gilweean. Gilweean is one of the oldest places in The Society for the Preservation of Magical Artefacts and has particular magical properties. It's also the home of the Williynx: the brightly-coloured birds which Kaira first met with her Aunt Phee and Guppy. Things get darker and Kaira, Guppy and Jacob find themselves in more scrapes as they slowly unravel the secrets others would like to keep buried. It's a faced-paced ride, like Book 1, and I think lovers of the series will be pleased!

The smoke is everywhere ... consuming you until you submit, drawn into the darkness, awaiting to devour you.

I'd travel to The Society for the Preservation of Magical Artefacts (setting for my Kaira Renn series of fantasy books) to join the characters on their amazing adventures!

The idea for my most recent book came in a number of forms. Firstly, my daughter is a Harry Potter fan. The children's book which still resonates the most from my childhood is C.S. Lewis' 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'. The moment Lucy steps on snow, reaching Narnia through the wardrobe is still magical!
I've also always been drawn to the paranormal and loved The Twilight Zone as a boy so bending reality is an interest for me as a writer.

Inspiration comes in many forms. The inspiration for the Kaira Renn series was the desire to get my teenage daughter back into reading. We made a deal: I write the series, she reads it (sort of like a really cheap editor!).
A lot of the time, the inspiration comes in the form of a character struggling with a problem.

I'm currently working on the second book in the Kaira Renn fantasy adventure series set in The Society for the Preservation of Magical Artefacts. The first book 'The Sign of the Symean' was released this week on Amazon.

My advice to aspiring writers would be:
Read a lot
Recognise that writing is a craft. As tempting as it may be to knock out your first novel with little background in fiction, craft carries the story.
I wrote my first novel when I was seventeen. Terrible, of course but that was over thirty years ago!

Creating an escape to a world where the only limit is your imagination.

I view writer's block as problem-solving. Normally, the block links to a strand in a story which needs to be worked out/tied up. Once I reach these points in a novel, I find taking a break helps. I also like to have a notebook or laptop with me which I use to visually map the connections needed to resolve the narrative puzzle.
