Quinn Ravenlea I push through it.

In my experience, the best way to bust through writer's block is to make myself write. Even if it is bad, it is something. 99% of the time I get into what I'm doing and the block just goes away as if never there.

Another method that I utilize is waiting until I am manic to begin a project. I'm Schizoaffective, which is basically a combination of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, but not enough of either one to be JUST one or the other. As bad as it sounds, I love being manic because I become super productive. I want to do everything, so I use the episode to my advantage to get cleaning done or pick up on a writing project that I haven't had the energy to work on in awhile.
Quinn Ravenlea I'm currently working on a gay m/m romantic erotica that is more medieval fantasy about a male witch and a stranger he saves in the woods.
Quinn Ravenlea Usually if I hear a song that speaks to me or with just the right beat, I'll start thinking to myself, "What kind of character would listen to this?" or "What kind of character would the lyrics or rhythm speak to?"

It also helps that I have an overactive muse, so ideas pop into my head constantly. I just have to find the motivation to put it to paper, so to speak.
