Jaime Perez Trobadour: It's not easy, but my secret is that I exploit my self-diagnosed insomnia: 8 hours of work, 5 hours of sleep and 11 hours of the other necessities (which includes writing).
Jaime Perez I have always felt if you really love doing something, the enjoyment of it practically galvanizes the needed inspiration; there ends up being little need to consciously conjure inspiration because it's already there. It's when you attempt to do something you don't enjoy that inspiration is often stubbornly elusive. I love to write; therefore, I am always inspired.
Jaime Perez I usually do all my writing in my bedroom, so if I am ever confounded by a pesky writer's block, I just get out of my room or leave the house entirely for a few minutes. Getting some fresh air or going for a small drive has been proven to help with my blocks. This seems to give me a rejuvenating breath of fresh air that is needed for me to once again immerse myself under the vast ocean of writing and minimizes the possibility of drowning in anxiety. I repeat this process as many times as needed.
Jaime Perez My most recent book, "The Vacant Space," came out only a few months ago, so right now I am just working on promoting it. I will likely begin toying with a new book sometime in early 2015.
