I found myself all alone in a dark, foreboding room reputed to be haunted.Seeking refuge from the complete and utter darkness,I reached for a match and one was placed into my hand.

I would go to the "Underground"in the novel version of Jim Henson's,"Labyrinth"and try to score a Waltz with the Goblin King(played so winningly by the late,Great David Bowie)!Of,course I have to admit, when I saw the movie,I had an enormous crush on Jareth, the Goblin King,LOL!I still miss the wonderful Mr.Bowie, thank goodness he left so many great gifts of music and acting behind for the world to share!

I don't try to force it,the muse comes sooner or later. If I do run into a large hurdle that seems impossible,I just think back on my Childhood, and knowing that there are Children out there dealing with the same problems usually spurs me to begin writing again, however, this can backfire, because,if I think about my Childhood too much ,...well,I don't like to dwell on it,and this is why it's SO important for me to try and help Children,so maybe they will be able to look back on their childhood and smile, not cringe.

Knowing that I may be helping a Child feel empowered,or even just telling them a story that they enjoy. It also makes me extremely happy that I finally realized my life's Dream of being an Author,I have always been enthralled with the printed word, but mostly,I enjoy that it enables me to do school readings and interact with the Children,They are Blessings!

Don't believe those who say that you can't do it,and don't listen to your inner doubts.Go ahead and submit your work!I have learned that the biggest regrets People have are not the things they did,but the things they DIDN'T do!And have patience,A LOT goes into the Publishing process,it takes a while, but it's worth it.

The next title in the series, due out late in 2019,is "The Beagle and the bullies",it's told from Teddy's point of view,as all of the series will be,and the star of this book will be my very own Beagle,Moose.

I grew up in a very abusive home, and,at first, writing was an escape from the pain, but ,with my Husband's encouragement,I submitted my manuscripts, imagine my surprise when they were received well from my Publisher. It got me to thinking,...how many Survivors of Childhood trauma are still walking around out there with self doubt? It also got me to thinking of just how many present day Children in abusive situations that I might could help by teaching them that they deserve so much better. So,I go to schools and read my book, and then have a session with the Little ones, letting them know that they can be anything they want to be,to ignore the bullies and people who would tear them down, and to reach out to Teachers,or any School staff if they are in a bad situation at home,or anywhere else.I enjoy my time with the Students, just yesterday, when I asked a little boy what he wanted to be when he grew up,he didn't hesitate when he said "Sonic the Hedgehog!"

The idea for "Teddy looks for something special" is the first in a series of self help books for Children,to help them navigate the difficult issues that they face.It is told from the POV of Teddy,my own Teddy bear that I have had since I was a child.I am a survivor of incest and child-trafficking,and I wanted to pen a series to help Children feel empowered and to know the right way to handle some of life's most challenging problems. The protection of Children and making them know that they are worthy and deserving of a safe existence is a top priority to me!
