The opportunity to connect with people who enjoy what you've written and whom you might never otherwise have met. Sure, I love the creative parts of a writer's life, but I have been so blessed to meet wonderful people who were inspired by the books.

When I was 9, my mother had a baby boy, but he was born with hydrocephalus and in those days doctors encouraged parents to have children with those kinds of problems hospitalized or institutionalized. He wasn't expected to live long. He lived 3 years but was always in a care facilty and I never saw him. I regret that but it might make for a good "What if?" novel.

Uisneach, of course. The first thing I'd do is find Silas. The second thing I'd do is go back to the fishing hole and spend a lazy afternoon fishing...and stuff.

I'm in the revision process for The Return of the Bard Book 3 of The Kingdom of Uisneach series. I'm always amazed at how much an initial draft can change when it's evaluated by an editor. I find the process both challenging and enjoyable.

I've challenged myself to read a classic book a year. By this summer I hope to be on Charles Dickens, Bleak House and maybe some Robert Louis Stevenson. I'm not sure what I'll be reading from current authors. Depends on how deep into the current pile I get.

Lela, I might be, although yours seem to be short stories and mine are epic fantasy. Still interested?

Write! And read. A lot. And write some more. If your goal is to publish, then you will also need to research and create a plan to get you to that goal. There are many resources out there to help you take the steps toward publishing your work. Connect with other writers through writing groups or online writing support groups. Carve out time EVERY SINGLE DAY to write, whether it is ten words or ten thousand words, make it a daily practice.

I'm not sure I've experienced that yet? I have the opposite problem. There is always so much in my head that I want to write, and not enough time to write it all. However, there have been times I've been stuck in how to write a scene and I just keep writing. Usually, something happens that gives me an idea of which direction to go in.
