The COUNTRY ROADS series was because I am a huge country music fan. I originally had the first book end and be a stand alone. But, I changed it, having a tragedy occur which spun everything in a new direction for the rest of the series,
The book that I just submitted to my publisher happened because some friends and I were talking about having a girls getaway. We wanted to go somewhere tropic and see a concert. We didn't end up going, but my main character did. I named her Maya because we were going to go to the Riviera Maya. And, when I looked up the name Maya -- it has to do with fertility...which spun my story in a whole other direction.

I am currently working on a number of writing projects. The rest of the COUNTRY ROADS series has been put under contract. (five books in all). So, I am editing, working on cover art, trailers, and promos for them. In addition, I have another book that was just put under contract. And, I am about three chapters in on a rough draft of a new book. I am so excited about all this creativity.

Never lose the passion for your craft. If you are a writer, it's because you love the art of how words and images through words come together. You have a desire to create a world through the written word. If you start looking at it as a job or a task (needing to get so much done or climb a chart), you'll lose the whole reason you love it in the first place.
