During the past eighteen months my wife and I, like many other people, were subject to the 'lockdown' for Coronavirus and so I chose to write to fill some of that time. The fact that I do enjoy doing the writing is a bonus but where exactly the ideas come from is a mystery to me.

My first attempts at writing was to deal with the subjects of my own work. I wrote some columns for a trade paper and somehow, it just developed from there. I then became the honorary editor for my own Association and in that position I often had to write some 'page fillers'. From there I wrote a pocket book on meat hygiene and I was approached by a publisher who asked me to consider writing a multi author book on meat quality. I did that and it just seemed to continnue onwards as I went through my life.

To simply try. I didn't believe that I had enough imagination to write a novel but I tried and I have now finished number eleven and am making a start on number twelve.
