Cameron Joseph Hello, Sharon, I'm glad you liked the thing in the pit. My first idea was to introduce the Colt Justice character and follow up with stories of his adventures. That might happen, I have a few stories laying around.
I won't rule it out but it's not likely to be the next story I publish. As far as characters, I start a story and I get to know the characters. I like to be flexible and let the characters lead me.
I handle writer's block the same way I handle insomnia ..if I can't sleep I get out of bed. The stories inside you will find their way out. If it takes a while, that might be a good thing.
Thank you, Sharon, for rating The Thing in the Pit. I'm glad you were entertained. I enjoyed writing that story.
Cameron Joseph I would like to read "Mostly Dead Things" by Kristen Arnett her debut novel

I also want to read "The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway"...again :)
Cameron Joseph I would travel to the world of Game of Thrones. First I would get drunk with Tyrion and Bronn. Then I would head North to meet Jon Snow.
Cameron Joseph Thank you, Beth, for your rates and review. I'm glad you liked the Forth House. I don't have a specific process, when I write I like to give the characters space. I just go where the story leads me, first the rough draft and revisions come later.
The Forth House was an idea I had last year. I have been working on a volume of short stories 8-12,000 words, I wanted three or four shorts for that. One afternoon I started a story called The Zombification of Laura Moon. It was about a young couple who decide to fraud an insurance company by faking her death. That young couple was Billy and Laura Moon.
Billy becomes fixated on a mirror they find at an antique shop. Then just as they are starting their caper he learns(from the mirror) that Laura has been unfaithful. I liked the young couple. And I was having trouble with a starter for the Forth House, I had a draft but was not pleased with the beginning. So I decided to use Billy and Laura Moon.
I started typing and 20,000 words later I read what I typed. That was the rough draft, after a few revisions, I had the story of the Forth House.
Yes, there may be a sequel if readers like this story.
Cameron Joseph Hello James, thank you for your interest ...end of June hopefully. I am working on a volume which will include 3-4 horror stories. Thank you for your reviews and rates as well.
Cameron Joseph Hello Judy first I want to thank you for the rates and the review. I am glad you liked Colt Justice. My next story will be fantasy.
Yes I am thinking about a series of stories following Colt Justice. They most likely won't be released until 2019. I have a science fiction story or two in mind for 2018.
Cameron Joseph Thank you so much Lisa for the review and rate. I am glad you enjoyed The thing in the Pit. The thing in the pit was originally going to introduce the character Colt Justice. It was going to be the first of a series of 12,000 word shorts following Colt Justice and his paranormal investigations. . I began writing the story on a Saturday afternoon, the first two chapters developed and the Fred Potter character changed. He was not going to be a close friend of the family at first.
I continued write the draft and I had 19,000 words, 8 chapters. I decided to continue writing and when I stopped I had 34,000 words ..then came a couple more drafts...it ended up 32,000 ...and I felt I had reached the end of the story. I have not thought about a sequel, I have thought about a print version, which would include two more chapters. That's only a thought, right now I am working on another project. Thanks again for your review and if there is anything you wish to ask, feel free. I will be glad to answer as soon as I can.
Cameron Joseph I don't force it, I let it come to me. The story is worth the wait. I love to write but it is not the only thing I do. I never rush it when I write.
Cameron Joseph I like telling stories. I always have. Something to think about as well , when you write and publish a book, that book will be there years after you are gone. Perhaps you can touch someone's heart, give them a chill or make them laugh. Perhaps 50 years from now someone will see your book and decide to read it. They may be inspired to write or they might not put the book down until they finish every last word. That is really cool. It is also fun to create characters and worlds and conflicts and let them tell their story. I love to write!
Cameron Joseph Write, write everyday. It does not have to be a novel but try to write everyday. If you are just writing thoughts down.. keep it look at it later, sometimes it can inspire a story.
Cameron Joseph I have 3 stories for the first half of 2018. One will be published in late January. the second will be around mid March and the third in late May.
Cameron Joseph I love to write, I don't always have the time. Recently I published horror fantasy stories, I will be writing in different genres. I started a story yesterday that I will probably publish in late January 2018. I will be posting more about it after the holidays.
Cameron Joseph I like to write about spooky woods and the wilderness. So I decided to set the story deep in the Tennessee wilderness. The force that had occupied those woods for centuries was not willing to surrender to Ballard Stone's greed. I wanted a different creature, not a werewolf or vampire, something different.
