So glad you like the variant covers! The short story is: everything that could've gone wrong with the cover, did. The lack of cover even pushed the release date for the book back an entire month!
Fortunately the artist was super cool about it and let me use her in-progress work as promotional material. Just got the final painting yesterday, so we should have a real, actual, final cover by the end of the week! And with the hi-res final painting file, we'll finally have a print-ready cover, which means the print edition will be coming soon!

I've also made good progress on two short stories in the world of Mr Warren's Profession. Finally getting to make use of all those subplots I had to cut!
Apart from that, I'm working on a novel best summarized as "Gothic lesbians". You can read about some of my early progress on that project on my tumblr blog, nothwell.tumblr.com.
