I've been writing for over thirty years, and believe you me, I NEVER experienced the so-called 'writer's block.' All I can say is, that it's best that one suffering from writer's block do what I've read many prescribe: Just sit in front of that computer until you get something down on that blank document. Personally, I believe that writers block is all self-indulgent hogwash.

I am an artist as as well as a writer. As an artist, I have had to field ths question. I remember one guy saying to me, "Harold, some people smoke, some use other drugs to get that creative boost, what do you use?" I chuckled and replied, "Nothing. I have a natural head. I just am imbued with a passion to create and that's what I do." In short, I inspire myself through a deep need in me to want to leave something unique behind.

I am a novelist, a writer's coach, and reviewer of self-published fiction. It was in the latter capacity, however, that I became acutely aware that many new writers flocking Amazon KDP and other self-publishing platforms, did not have a grasp of fiction-writing basics. This sparked the idea for my latest book, "How to get Better Reviews for Your First Novel: 11 Convos on the Basics of Fiction Writing for New Self-Publishing Authors."
