Deborah Morrison / Deborah A. Morrison Marlene, I would recommend ...1. "Autobiography of a Yogi" since this book written quite awhile ago, brings some Eastern philosophy along with a fascinating story about the life journey of Paramahansa Yogananda - Although likely different than what you would usually read, I think this book would catch your interest & be a unique reading experience! ... An autobiography relevant to the current middle east crisis "Son of Hamas" I haven't read this one, however it looks very interesting. It's about the son of a Hamas leader & his life experience growing up. Then he eventually becomes a spy for Israel, leaves Hamas, becomes Christian and moves to the U.S.A. Would be great to know about Hamas & the journey from an insider's point of view. Son of Hamas also has youtube videos. - Deborah
Deborah Morrison / Deborah A. Morrison It was a Fall October night with not a star or moon in sight, just pitch black all around. Surrounded by darkness I could barely see more than a few feet ahead when suddenly a gust of wind blew my newly completed Fiction Thriller manuscript papers all around as I stood silent and frozen with fright, listening to the sinister sound of footsteps quickly approaching!
Deborah Morrison / Deborah A. Morrison The fictional book I would travel to is "Warrior Of The Light" by Paulo Coelho. This book is an inspirational companion book to Paulo Coelho's well known book "The Alchemist." In this fictional story I would be "the boy's" travel companion. We would walk along the shore of the beach and listen to the sound of waves as they dance upon the sands. We would look out at the horizon and see blue sky and ocean. As we stand together near the shore we meet "the woman" who tells us about the temple with many bells. Fascinated by "the woman's" story, "the boy" and I would try to hear the temple bells even though the temple was swallowed up by the ocean many, many years ago. But we would not hear the bells. So we would go on a treasure hunt, seeking riches and treasures in the temple which was now somewhere in the depths of the ocean. But, we would not find the temple nearby. So, the boy and I would go on travels to many oceans throughout the world in search of the temple ... and in search of hearing the temple bells. After awhile, we began to think that the story "the woman" told us was just a legend, and perhaps we needed to find the temple for ourselves. So, we would swim in the seven seas in search of treasure. But, after having many adventures traveling the world, the boy and I return to the original beach of the boy's childhood where we first met "the woman." By this time we are both much older and wiser. By surprise we meet up with "the woman" again, but by this time we no longer dream of finding a treasure, and neither of us has ever really heard the bells ring even though many years had passed. "The woman" asks us about our travels and we tell her we enjoyed our travels but have returned empty handed. She reminds us that we've gained 'wisdom' in our travels with our vast life experience. Again she asks us to walk down to the sea shore and listen for the bells. And, this time we both hear the bells as they ring their song of silence. We've learned about wisdom of Oneness. Everything and everyone is a part of this wonderful song ... the wind, the waves, the birds, the sunlight, the moon, the stars, and the warm sands. Surprisingly we both hear the temple bells ring within silence ... the temple bells ring. Together in Oneness we hear the sound of silence ... the sound of the temple bells. After hearing the bells we both realize we've grown immensely over the years. We return to "the woman" and express our gratitude. Then "the boy" and I decide we will live the rest of our days sharing the story of the temple bells. We travel once again to the many oceans of the world to share our wisdom with those we meet along the way. But these travels would be another tale for a future book.

Deborah Morrison / Deborah A. Morrison My favourite time to write is early mornings. I will keep on writing all day sometimes if I'm highly inspired. These days I just write when I'm in the mood to write, there is no set schedule. Years ago when I first began writing I booked an appointment with myself for early Sunday mornings ... for a couple of hours as my writing time. If I felt like writing all day then I would do so.
Deborah Morrison / Deborah A. Morrison I live in a seventh story penthouse condo with a view over the entire city, sunsets, and Lake Ontario off in the distance. My favourite writing place (pen to paper) is at my pine dining room table with a view over the rooftops and treetops. When the weather is mild I open my balcony doors wide, listen to the birds sing while I write and feel the gentle breeze. If I need a break I go out onto my balcony and relax in my zero gravity chair for awhile. Sometimes I write at my computer which is also near my beautiful view over the city. My computer is on a solid wood desk.
Deborah Morrison / Deborah A. Morrison My most recent book "Finding Your Center: Explorations In Philosophy, New Physics And Eastern Mysticism" was based on many years of research focused on the importance of being centered as a way to put your best step forward in life. Also, I've found the mind expanding experience of studying comparative thought from a multi-disciplinary perspective to be enlightening. I wanted to share all of this with my readers.
Deborah Morrison / Deborah A. Morrison Nature and people are my greatest inspirations.

Deborah Morrison / Deborah A. Morrison I never really feel like I have writer's block' since I believe writing happens at just the right time when inspiration arrives!f I get into an inspirational mood by doing a few things that work well for me every time -- go for a leisurely walk, notice the beauty all around me, appreciate nature, watch the sunset, gaze at the stars, listen to the birds sing, look for 'signs' all around, and sometimes I just sit quietly and meditate.
Deborah Morrison / Deborah A. Morrison My favourite fictional couple is Cinderella and her Prince Charming. Why? Because against all odds we can see they were 'destined' to be together. Romantic!
