I can't say that I have an absolute favorite fictional couple. For me, it's always how the story is told. I don't like insta-love, so I appreciate a story where the couple has to work to get together--especially to overcome adversity.
I read different genres all the time, but the couples that resonant most with me are usually in young adult books. I have my go-to-authors that never disappoint: Colleen Hoover, Jennifer L. Armentrout, K.A. Tucker, Jamie McGuire...
So, I guess this is my non-answer :)

So far, I haven't had to battle a true block. I set a schedule for myself--how many hours/days a week I want to write--and stick to it. If I walk away from a story, I tend to be at a loss when I come back to it. I find that if I go back to the beginning and read from page one, I'll pick up right where I left off.

The best thing about being a writer is the act of creating. I could write about ANYTHING. I could create a different world. I could illustrate the journey of someone going through a tragedy. I could write about hedgehogs.
It's limitless and expressive. :)

As cliche as it may be, never give up. Incineration is the sixth novel I've written, but the first I felt was publication ready. I tried off and on to publish it the traditional way, but ultimately decided it was worth self-publishing. I didn't want it to sit in a file like the rest of my stories.
No matter if I'm successful as an author or not, I will always be writing. I do it for me. :)

I am currently working on a series that investigates genetic modification (GM). It takes place in the future, where people have been subjected/rewarded with certain modifications. Some of those people even exhibit incredible gifts.
Like everything in our society, the nation is split on what to do with these individuals. Many people discriminate and call them dangerous. Others argue they are valuable humans just like everyone else.
The story follows a woman and a man through their experiences in that world.

Hmmm. Sometimes, real-world events spark the beginning of a story; but, more often than not, I conjure up an idea out of boredom. And, if I'm perfectly honest, I go a little crazy if I'm not doing something creative.
I constantly jot down ideas and eventually come back to them to develop a story.
I will say, I HAVE to listen to music when writing, and I have a hard time doing it at home. I don't love coffee, but I usually end up in a quiet corner of a coffee shop to get my work done.

The idea for Incineration grew when I thought about how people would react if a massive plague annihilated the world. Outbreak and dystopian novels aren't new, so I tried to pull it part and ask myself very simple questions about human behavior.
If there were few of us left in a city, how would they get food? Would they scavenge for food or grow it?
Would people come together as a species, or would they fight as individuals?
When I thought of potential answers to those questions, I ran with it and Incineration and Burning Ascension (book 2), were born. :)
