Jason Kasper Hi Jayne, great question! After writing five military thrillers, I wanted to step outside my comfort zone in every way possible. I've always loved heist movies, so the genre was an easy choice. Most other elements of the story were picked to be as different from my previous books as possible- i.e. female protagonist, multiple points of view, etc.
Jason Kasper Thanks Samuel. I started writing as therapy, so David Rivers begins Greatest Enemy similar to me when I invented him- a former Ranger, West Point cadet self-medicating through writing and BASE jumping. And of course drinking. With no fiction experience, this seemed a good place to start- so I asked the question of what would happen if he met a team of former special operations guys conducting mercenary work for a transnational criminal syndicate, but needed a BASE jumper for a particular assassination...and the rest of the story, and the series at large, resulted from me following the story after that point.
