Sara Codair As of 1/27/18, I am waiting for my final round of beta readers to give me comments on on a LGBTQ solar-punk/fantasy novel, working with a CP to turn my NaNoWriMo first draft (YA space opera) into a decent 2nd draft, and I am doing some edits on a novel an editor gave me a Revise and Resubmit on (R & R).
Sara Codair A mix of my own problems, things that scare me, snippets of family history, and a lot of "what-if's?"
Sara Codair I had too many stories in my head. Something would've cracked or exploded in my soul if I didn't write.
Sara Codair If I get stuck on a first draft, I go back and edit what I've written, or just switch to whichever project is calling me more. If I am on a deadline, I free-write about being stuck, why I am stuck, and how I need to get past the block. Eventually, by forcing myself to just rant, to just think through writing instead of thinking before writing, I get myself back on track.
Sara Codair Write every day, and tell your inner critic/sensor to shut up while you write. Don't worry about how you are going say something. Just think through the page. The important thing is to record the ideas on paper or in your document before they vanish into a storm of other thoughts never to return again.
