Oh, it's been a story which was in my head for ages. Over time, I build around it, putting myself in different character shoes, living their lives, contemplating what would they do next?
Eventually it turn out to be what it is today. But yeah, every line I have written I'm certain has found inspiration from my own life, friends etc. I'm sure it would be the same for other writers as well!!

There are lot of different yet very small things that can inspire one to write. For me a smile of a child or beautiful morning or a heartbreak or even a cute dog playing with a tennis ball, all these may seem small things, but I think a writer for one looks at a world in a different way.
And inspiration is all around us. One just need to find it..

My next book follows the life of a young mountain kid, the challenges he face because of his disability and how he turns around his life when everybody he loves leaves him and eventually how he becomes a bestselling author.

Close your eyes, think about your story and just write.
You would never improve if you don't write. For my first book, I struggled for 10 years. I was a pathetic writer when I started, brimming with the passion that yes, I can write, that I can be a writer.
But it's so much more to be a writer. You have to persist. You have to put in the long hours. You have to make the person believe in the story. So, yeah, first ask do you really want to be a writer.
If the answer is yes, take a pen and start writing.

Haha...
There are so many great things about being a writer. But most of it all, you get to see the world from a different lens.
There is a saying, "What is our life, if is not stories of us and our friends?"
I would say even if I don't write for the world, even if nobody reads my book. I would still be a happier person being a writer for I would have experienced something that (you muggle) would never!!

Frankly, it's not a easy thing.
I think what helps is, you take a step back and try figuring out the crux of the story, the main characters and what they do in different situations.
Even if that doesn't work out, one can always pick the easy part of the book (which you have not yet written) and write about it.
The better you'll be able to visualize, the lesser the probability of having a writers block.
Lastly, find inspiration in nature and surroundings. Go for a hike, witness the rains, get inspired.
