Angie Gallion Writers block for me is just that voice in my head telling me that "nobody wants to read this" and "why are you wasting your time?" I don't really work from an outline when I write, but I have an idea of the arc of the story so my writing comes out very much at the moment and sometimes I go down a bad path and it will shut me down for a couple of days while I work through what went wrong and how do I fix it. Then I come back and move all the stuff that backed me into a corner and put it in the extra file. I never throw anything away.
Angie Gallion The best thing about being a writer is that it is personal and sharable. I love the feedback from readers, that inspires me. The past seven weeks have been a whirlwind and I am excited about the people who want to see more from me. It makes me feel a little better about all the money my parents put into my education when my first career choice is being a stay at home mom.
Angie Gallion Write. Don't listen to the voice in your head that says nobody wants to read this or this isn't good. Just write and read and write some more. INTOXIC lived only for me for 25 years becasue that voice in MY head wouldn't let it go. Who knew that people would actually love it as much as I do?
Angie Gallion I just finished the first draft of PURGUS, book two of Alison's story. I'm reading other people's book this week so I can come back for first edits with a fresh eye. I just started doing book reviews for indie and small press writers on my blog, http://angiegallion.wixsite.com/intoxic, and my first review is set for The Walking Bridge by Rick Sanders.
Angie Gallion I usually get inspired to write by a feeling. Or a sound, or maybe something I see. I have a pretty vivid imigination and daydream a lot.
Angie Gallion This book actually began when I was in college and came home to an empty house and a rain storm. The first line came like a truck and from there it fell out in bits and pieces. I did my first draft in a college creative writing class and have continued to play with it, over the years until I finally wnet back and read it and thought there wasn't anything I wanted to really change or add..
