Hi Pamie,
Thank you for your question. My book takes place in a fantasy world of elves so I didn't have to think about any cultural differences. Except for certain expressions and idioms, the books are closely translated.
I chose to have my book translated into Spanish because there is a need for 2nd grade/3rd grade Spanish titles in my 2nd grade classroom (in the U.S.A.). I wanted to be part of creating more titles that all my students can connect to and enjoy.

I daydream...a lot. I take what I'm doing and learning in a day and I try to make a story out of it. I get so much joy out of creating stories that I consider daydreaming one of my best hobbies.

Whenever I write something that makes me proud...my heart races, my smile brightens, and the day becomes great. I can only connect it to a soccer player that scores a goal or a student who gets an A on an assignment.

I try to write every day. Yet, that doesn't mean that my day's writing is going to be something I keep or something that makes me proud. So before I sit down, I tell myself that it is okay if I don't create my best. Just try. Just keep writing. It takes the pressure off.
