Hello Sadie, and thanks for the questions! :D (1) My favorite thing about writing is getting into my character's heads and figuring out why they do what they do and feel what they feel. (2) One of my favorite characters to create was Lindy from "Left to Die." She's very different than me and it was quite a challenge to bring her to life. (3) I much prefer novels! I'm not good with short and concise, so longer is always easier for me. :)

Thank you! :D I hired a friend who is a graphic designer to design the logo. Here is his website: http://www.greghahner.com/

In The Old River Road, I took very few creative liberties while crafting Clara and William's story. In some ways, I wish I had given myself permission to loosen up and enjoy the story I was telling without getting caught up in wondering whether details were 100% truthful or not. I've made the decision not to change the story, even if I discover something I said was inaccurate. If the inaccuracy is going to harm someone, then I will certainly change it. If I decide in later years to re-write the series, the perhaps I will change some things. I don't know. :) .

Wow, that's a loaded question! :) Nice job. Let me see how well I can answer this for you.
First of all, don't throw away ANY story ideas. I mean ANY. I have an entire folder of my desktop titled "Ideas." Inside the ideas folder is a "bad ideas" folder--full of story ideas/scenes/snippets that I wanted to delete. But guess what? I've dug into that bad ideas folder more often than I care to admit. Even something that seems like a bad idea at the time can turn into something you can use later.
Second: writing a story that is fandom and movie worthy is every author's dream! I don't think it's bad in the least to have goals and aspirations like that, however, don't hobble yourself. Sometimes, waiting for perfection can be absolutely crippling (totally speaking from experience here).
Thirdly: Yes, when I started writing, I wrote for fun. I still write for fun. Polishing and publishing books is part of the fun. If writing ever becomes a chore or something that I absolutely despise, I will "hang up the keyboard." This is something I actually had to do with a form of art that I loved for a season of life, yet when it became a burden rather than a blessing, I put it away. If writing isn't fun anymore, it might be time for a break.
Fourth: Yes, you can absolutely change anything you want even in a finished story. For myself, I set limits on when to stop editing and fixing, otherwise I would be forever changing my published books! :)
Something I encourage everyone to do is to clearly define success for themselves in regards to writing. It's easier to cross the finish line when you know where it is. ;-)

Great question! To be honest, I'm not sure if any story any author ever writes would be called their "perfect" story. However, I do believe that authors can be more passionate or excited about one story than they might be about another. In my own experience, searching for perfection has never ended well. :) There is one story I am working on that is definitely my "baby", but I don't feel like it's my perfect baby. It's just the story I'm most excited and passionate about (at the moment). Does that answer your question? :)

Nothing solid yet, but, Lord willing, sometime in the summer of 2017. :-)
Hailey Rose
Yes, I am! :) Details are forthcoming (via my blog), however, publication dates are December/January. :) Thanks for asking!
Hailey Rose
I'll answer it! :) Yes, the second book will be about William and Clara. Hints about what will happen...hmmm...considering I am just going to continue following the timeline and events of their actual lives, I will say this much: tragedy, relocation, and lots more babies. :)

Sorry for the delay--I always forget to check these. :)
I used Amazon's CreateSpace and Kindle Direct. No, I did not edit the book myself--I had 12 beta readers and two paid editors. However, I did do a substantial amount of self-editing. But I don't want to rely on my own jaded eyes to catch everything! :)

Great question! :) First of all, my dad, who has been telling me I really can be a published author since I was seven; and secondly, all the other young authors who write and publish such amazing stuff.
