Rusty Knight, Kenneth Shumaker My book? If we are talking about Bloodgrue, Volume one, Fare Where? or Bloodgrue, Volume 2, Breaths, they are collections of episodes from my serial series, Bloodgrue.

The serial series came about because my fans from my Owerton Challenge Blog liked the character Bloodgrue and encouraged me to write more about him.

I proposed to a traditional publisher that I write short stories based on the character Bloodgrue. They proposed we publish a 48 episode series and we signed a contract. There are currently over 50 episodes and I am still writing episodes. I have plans for over another 60 more. The books will see six episodes each from the series.
Rusty Knight, Kenneth Shumaker Where do I get inspired? How do I get Inspired? Why Do I get Inspired? Am I inspired?

Humm inspired? I write because its in my head. simple as that.

I feel better, more alert and energized after a writing session, so that is my inspiration.

I write either in full silence with subdued lighting, at my desk with my desktop computer, or with rock, trance, electronic, orchestral or pop music playing, and bright lights, sitting at my desk with my desktop, or even at the kitchen table or any where with my laptop.

I have a specific filing system and server system I use to store my files. A combination of DropBox, Google Drive and a portable LaCie Drive, to store my files with my business. I use redundant filing, to be sure I never loose my work.

But the one thing I have consistent, is I write every day for at least two hours, I write over 70,000 words a week. and sit down with my editor Saturday and Sunday to go over all my work from the week, then I publish on Monday. I write seven days a week.

Rusty Knight, Kenneth Shumaker Advice? I may be one person a lot of my friends come to for advice, but I'm not sure I'm the right person some days to give advice. My best short form advice? Simple! Just write and get it down. Write your first draft without editing. Get every idea down. When you're done your first draft, then go back and revise the heck out of it, before you even begin to edit.
Rusty Knight, Kenneth Shumaker For me? The best thing about being a writer is the freedom of creative expression. Getting all those story ideas out of my head, onto print. Its kinda neat sharing the world in my head with other people.
Rusty Knight, Kenneth Shumaker Writer's block? What? It depends, I determine what my mood is, if I'm having a down mood day, then I do something to bring my mood up, like read something and listen to upbeat music. while eating some favorite food.

If my mood is already positive, then I switch from the current writing project I am working on to a different writing project, or a different aspect of my project, like research or marketing, for that days work time.
