Caitlin Lynagh It's not something I've thought about seriously as I thought the reader would assume what happened. On saying that, you're right, there is a book there! I wouldn't rule it out completely. Glad you enjoyed the books.
Caitlin Lynagh I've been reading many classics lately, including Anne and Emily Bronté and Jane Austin. I recently picked up an 65-year-old version of "Wuthering Heights" in a charity shop for a pound! I've been helping out in a bookshop in Sedbergh for the past year or so, so my TBR list is huge!
Caitlin Lynagh Anomaly was a work-in-progress for many years, the original story was completely different to the story I eventually wrote and published. My ideas came from my love of science, particularly physics, and my fascination with the human consciousness. I reasoned, and still reason, that if everything in the universe is made up of the fundamental particles (or perhaps some particles we haven't even discovered yet), then the human mind, thoughts, emotions and memories must also be made up of these particles too. Once this little idea buried itself into my imagination, I couldn't let it go. I then took it one step further and thought about how such particles would exist, even beyond the death of our biological bodies.
Caitlin Lynagh I don't really get writer's block, I just write whatever comes into my head. However, sometimes I write poorly and then I have to re-write, and I can re-write the same paragraph many times over. I find that if I'm in a good mood my writing is much better, if I'm in a bad mood then I stay away from the keyboard.
Caitlin Lynagh The imaginary world in my head is so much better than the real world.
Caitlin Lynagh Read, read, read, and continue reading. Read absolutely everything you can get your hands on, it's the best way to learn. If you have a completed draft then I would recommend submitting your work to competitions, you may get a publishing deal that way. However, if you find you're not getting anywhere with competitions or publishing houses, do pay for a good copy-editor and proof reader and then self-publish.
Caitlin Lynagh I've found that inspiration cannot be demanded, it simply strikes whenever it feels like it, (usually when I'm trying to sleep or have a hundred things to do).
Caitlin Lynagh I'm currently working on a prequel to Anomaly. There is no working title for my next book but it follows the early life of Sophia Leto, a prominent character in Anomaly.
