I'm currently working on a book idea influenced by a Turkish Romantic Comedy series I stumbled upon a few weeks ago called Erkenci Kus (Early Bird). Absolutely LOVE this show! Stay tuned.

Hi Vanessa,
Thank you so much. I absolutely loved your review. The novel is based in early 1800's during the Regency Era. I'm so glad you liked the book. Stay in touch and take care.

I absolutely love romantic movies. When I want to write in the historical fiction genre, I will watch "Jane Eyre", "Pride and Prejudice", or "North and South" (with Richard Armitage). If I want to write in contemporary fiction, I like anything with a great romantic plot. Recently I stumbled upon a South Korean Romance called, "My Secret Romance." It is so ADORABLE!! I fell in love with the two main characters. If you want a peek into the show, here is a perfectly romantic song with the main characters, Sung Hoon & Song Ji Eun, showing some scenes. LOVE THEM! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cuteh...

Hi Jennifer,
This is one of the toughest questions. There are so many good books out there. I love Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte. I also love Julian Quinn. I wonder, though, would I be cheating, if I chose my book of Jane Austen classics?

I'm a little torn between three fictional characters. They are Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester, Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy, and Margaret Hale and Mr. Thorton.

Hi Elaine,
I think that is a great question, just because you're not the only person to ask. Although you found the answer, I'd like to add that Lord Bachelor, although it takes place in a modern-day setting, does have an historical feel. I received a recent review where the reviewer said that, "if you love historical romance, give this contemporary romance a try." Because of my love for all things historical, I do reference Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice in the book. If you are interested in reading more of the review, here is the link.

Great question! In my current book, Lord Bachelor, I actually developed the main character, Edmund, by watching Tom Mison's portrayal of Mr. Bingley in the movie Lost in Austen, a Pride and Prejudice adaptation. In some scenes, I believe he stole the show. He was a side character, but funny and emotional. His dialogue made the movie more enjoyable.
I just don't believe side characters should be a backdrop. They can move the scene and add depth to the overall book or movie. So, my best recipe is to give the side character a memorable character trait or a quirky habit. I hope I was able to answer your question. Take care.
