I'm writing my second children's novel. I'm sticking with the medieval setting because it inspires me the most. My story is about a young man who is trying to become a squire, but events stop him in his tracks. Life takes him on a bit of a whirlwind, dangerous journey as he learns what it means to control your need for revenge. I've planned it as a two-part story where my protagonist's mission to become a squire and eventually a knight continue.

I love visiting castles and exploring the history, the suits of armour, the weaponry. I always wondered what it would be like to go back in time to see the castles and knights in all their glory. I almost felt like I was travelling back with my main character, getting 'lost' in the past as I developed each chapter. And I loved doing the research. It inspired me to tell the story.
