Unfortunately because I am published by Kindle Press, I currently cannot release a Kobo version. There is a paperback version available on Amazon or you can use the Kindle app on your phone or tablet (as weirdly enough I have to do). I promise that if my contract ever changes, I will be sure to announce it on GoodReads and on my website. Thanks for your support!

Funny thing... I had suffered from crippling writer's block for years, and finally over lunch at work I was prodded into a diatribe about the overuse of vampires in modern fiction. This may or may not have continued for about three days until my lovely best-intern-ever, dared me with "well can you do better?". My friends at work promptly gave me a list of restrictions such as "we never see a ginger vampire" or "why don't you name one something like Steve?". Thus Four was born, a vampire comedy born out of a dare, from a woman who both adores the genre and occasionally gets frustrated by it.

The last short story I wrote was born from a similar dare - a drunken evening con-conversation about what would be the stupidest story title anyone could think of. "Satan's Camaro" was the winner, and I ended up writing a story to go with the title.

I find my best ideas come when I'm not looking for them, or when my friends dare me. A lot of what I write is initially imagined when I'm in the shower, stuck in traffic or otherwise trapped in something dreadfully dull. I find it best to keep a pencil and paper handy everywhere.

Well after I boldly stated that "writing about vampires is a one-time thing" and "well at least I'll never do werewolves", I am totally writing the sequel to Four and there are totally werewolves in it. What can I say, I'm dreadfully American, and can totally change my mind at a moment's notice.

Never, ever give up! You have to have a dedicated stubborn streak to keep at it as a writer. Everyone is a critic and you have to stumble until you feel like it's insanity to get back up, but eventually it will happen. It took me twenty one years to finally be published, but I don't regret a single step of the journey. It is definitely a rush beyond compare when you finally get to the point where you can share your dream with others.

I wish I had an answer to this question (that always works). Usually I have to do something physical for a while - take a walk, knead some bread or even do some laundry. The big thing is to stop just staring at a blank page because I really imagine that that blinking little cursor is taunting me.
