Boris' pet rats and bats had started running amok amidst the "uninvited" guests, and their terrified shrieks and anguished screams sounded absolutely delightful to his elfin ears. Wiping Lucretia's blood from nonexistent lips, he snickered and pulled the switch that would sink the cluttered antebellum mansion into total darkness . . . and mayhem.

It would have to be one of Ray Bradbury's - he was my favorite author as a kid (and I still enjoy reading his works now). His places/locations always offered a spine-tingly sensation; they were odd and scary, and fascinating. As a mystery writer, I'd want to put on a P.I. hat and investigate all the unique places and people. It would make for a thrilling experience.

Trying to find answers as to what my/our purpose is. Just joking (but life truly can prove to be a mystery in and of itself). I think one mystery-plot might be my father's secretive past. He refused to share details and all I know is that he was a POW. He never wanted to share details, but the memories obviously remained with him, for I often heard him screaming/shouting when a nightmare invaded his sleep. . . . Rest in peace, Dad.

Sorry for the delay (will be more punctual in future!). Favorite couple - Dominique Francon and Howard Roark from Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead". They're not your conventional couple, but their mutual magnetism truly draws the reader into their complex relationship - that a woman can be so deeply in love with a man, yet be willing to destroy him.

Coco`s Nuts was actually a one-off manuscript I`d written a decade ago and placed in a drawer. The gals at Triple Threat decided it might be a good one for them to hone their private eye skills. Lo and behold, the third (most recent) in the series was born.

I do one of three things:
a) order it to go away
b) sit down and watch bad TV (that`ll get anyone moving)
c) give in to it, sit back, and enjoy a glass of wine.
The good thing about writer`s block: it`s always temporary.

Seeing something you've written come to fruition. It's rewarding, satisfying, and even humbling to finally finish a project. And it's actually quite a great feeling to breath life into characters, to allow them to guide their own paths and outcomes.

As corny as this may sound: believe in yourself, always (no matter what) keep the faith and, above all, NEVER give up.

Two things - the fourth book in the Triple Threat series, tentatively entitled "Forever Poi", and a work in progress that I'm updating weekly on Writeon called "Odd Woman Out".

As an only child, I usually had to entertain myself. Writing and painting, and reading, were great ways of doing that. Essentially, inspiration has been there since those early years and it comes from many things: people on the street or in the office, TV shows, news, overheard water-cooler chatter. The most inconsequential thing can prove the most inspiring; you just have to apply imagination.
