Saying to attractive women that you are a writer. Next best thing to having a dog or a baby with you. (Of course, I am a writer of fiction, so that may just be a figment of my imagination.)
PS Deep philosophical question for the day: What things, apart from imagination, come in figments?

I always precede any advice I give with this overarching piece:
Never listen to anything to say.
That said, I suppose I would this: Be wary of advice about anything you write. In the end, all opinions are subjective. If several people start to make the comment about what you are doing, you should probably be cognisant of what they say, but that doesn't necessarily mean you should change it.
The only person whose opinion really matters is your own.

Well, I am fiddling about with the idea for another novel but not yet sure if it has any legs. Also writing a blog - http://the-salmagundi.tumblr.com which is not about anything specifically but just whatever intrigues/amuses/vexes me on the day.

Absolutely no idea. Always been a writer of sorts - an advertising copywriter originally. One day I just began this novel and kept going until the end.

Originally conceived the basic idea - or rather the beginning and end - as a film script about 15 years ago. I suppose that one day I was just musing about a lost love - as one sometimes does in melancholy moments - and then I had the 'what if?' moment. That led to the story.
