Hello Krish, that's so good that you are enjoying my cricket books. Is it the Toby Jones or the Big Bash series, or perhaps both that you've liked? Alas, at this stage I don't have cricket books planned, but I love cricket so you just never know! Maybe you should write an awesome cricket story! Thanks for being in touch, kind regards, Michael

Well, everyone says write, write and write some more; and yes, of course that's so important. But I didn't write much in my early years; nor middle years if truth be known! For me, it's the all about the idea. It all started for me in an old commentary box on a cold, wintry day where I imagined a young boy travelling back in time to footy matches from the past. If you can get excited (really excited!) about an idea, then I think you're half way there.... or more! Be passionate and excited about what you're writing about and you'll want to write; re-write and create something wonderful.

I'm working on 4 Big Bash T20 cricket books. Am loving this project as I love cricket. It's great when you get a chance to craft stories that revolve around something you're passionate about!
I've also recently finished a book about bullying which is co-authored with Cathie Thornton, a school counsellor and psychologist. I, like many people, was bullied as a kid, so I hope this is something that helps people work through a bullying situation. It's very hands-on and practical and aimed at anyone who's witnessed or is witnessing or experiencing bullying.

I love being able to put my ideas down and let my imagination run. I like creating scenarios and situations. I think writing suits my lifestyle too and how I like to spend my days. I love visiting schools and talking to kids and I enjoy heading down to the local library to write. Writing and me fit together pretty well, I guess

I'm a bit of a planner so I have already done heaps of writing before I write; which I know sounds a bit stupid, but... So I plan out my story and break it down into chapters and print it off and have it sitting next to me. Things change of course as I write, but at least I have something to turn to. If I'm really stuck (with writer's block) i close the laptop and head off somewhere. I find it's no good battling it... I just get frustrated. Often, when I come back fresh, things seem a whole lot easier...
