Good question! I tend to write through it, write anything as long as you're writing something. I can always go back and edit these bits out. But often just writing useless bits and bobs will lead to other ideas along the way.

The best, best thing about writing is having a creative outlet. I've always been a creative person but have never once had a creative job. I have a scientific background and spent the most of my work days day dreaming (hence why I was never good at my job!) I love living in my imagination and creating characters.
I also love the freedom writing gives me. For example, on a lovely, sunny, Yorkshire day like today I can take my laptop in to my garden and type away while the sound of lawn mowers and tweeting birds fade in to the background. I love, love, love it! It's a job I would recommend.

The best advice I can give is do not compare your writing to others, it will only deter you from writing. Great books can have an intimidating affect on a first time author and you sometimes wonder if what you're writing is good enough. Ignore the inner demons and put pen to paper (or fingertip to keyboard whatever floats your boat)
Also, know your novel inside out. Read and re-read to make sure there are no mistakes anywhere (this is something I deeply regret) Don't worry about getting the story right first time, write the bare bones of the book and add bits in later or change chapters completely (this is what I ended up doing!)
The internet is not your friend! Turn off your phone, get in the zone and if that means listening to music to get a certain mood going do it!
I hope I've helped you :)

I am currently working on the sequel to The Life and Afterlife of Charlie Brackwood and really enjoying entering his world again. I can't tell you the title as it may spoil the ending to the first book but I can say that it's set in the Yorkshire Dales amongst lavish scenery and great Yorkshire folk (as nosy as they are!) Thanks for your question!

Well, like my main character Lucy, I've always loved books and have used them for years as a way to escape stressful situations. I was that kid at school who would spend school lunchtimes on my own in the corner of the library feeling completely safe and happy. I always knew I'd write a book, I just didn't know when. Authors who inspire me are mainly Nicholas Sparks and Giovanna Fletcher. I hope I answered your question! Thank you!

Over the years I've found myself wondering whether loved ones who have passed on can see pivotal times in our lives. Graduations, engagements, weddings, first homes etc and I've wondered what they think about the way we have turned out and the decisions we've made in life. This is how The Life and Afterlife of Charlie Brackwood was created. Hope that answered your question!
