Mark Daniel Seiler The creative part of ourselves has no limits or blocks.

If you're waiting for the perfect word to come out before you can write it down? Well yea, that might be a long wait. Pay close attention to whatever comes up, and let it rip.

You can fix it later.
Mark Daniel Seiler I really love working with different editors, going word by word. They try to convince you that you don't need that character. Suddenly you're confronted with the choice: does this character live or die? When someone you love is in danger, you get brave and defend them, even if you may not know what you're talking about. It doesn't matter. "Leave my friends and family alone!"

Then you realize that the editor is probably right after all, and there goes a hundred pages up in smoke.

The author strings words together and weaves a tale. The story isn't complete once the book is published. It's completed right as the reader is reading it, mixing their own experience to those of the characters. This is the best thing.
Mark Daniel Seiler I would listen closely to the creative part of yourself that isn't at all interested in good writing, or bad writing. The wild part of you that isn't obligated to behave or not behave, can be of great service. Let the words come out. Get the story down on paper. You can always come back later with a more critical mindset and iron out the wrinkles, but leave some. Do readers want perfection, or do they want to read something interesting?
Mark Daniel Seiler For a couple of months these children stories have been coming out. I'm looking for a collaboration with a visual artist to bring the characters to life. With children's books the visual aspect seems to be more important than the words on the page.
Mark Daniel Seiler For many of us ––it all seems to start with being a writer. For me it's about the story. As a writer I've not sure I'm that interesting. My characters are very interesting to me. I wonder what they're going to do next?
Mark Daniel Seiler If you've ever seen fear ripple across the skin of a horse, you know this sends the whole herd off in a full gallop. It's easy to recognize the same response in us. Fear can be contagious in a group of people. I wondered what it would be like for us humans if compassion was contagious?
